Typically, the NetVue peripherals do interfacing and protocol conversion tasks, leaving the NetVue free
for intelligence functions.
Frequently used peripherals include, but are not limited to these:
• Serial Gateway, RS232 and/or RS485 ports – example: Moxa IP to Serial Gateway
• GPIB Gateway, IEEE-488 ports – example: Agilent E5810A IP to GPIB Gateway
1.2.7 NetVue processes
A NetVue Server hosts a number of separate, yet interacting, processes. See Figure 1-9.

The NetVue Server software is a collection of services. The names of these services start with the letters
SL (SLNet, SLProtocol, SLLog, etc.).
